Dua For sleeping # 6
In English:
Allahumma AAalimal-ghaybi washshahadah, fatiras-samawati wal-ard, rabba kulli shayin wamaleekah, ashhadu an la ilaha illa ant, aAAoothu bika min sharri nafsee wamin sharrish-shaytani washirkih, wa-an aqtarifa AAala nafsee soo-an aw ajurrahu ila muslim.
Translation:
O Allah, You are the Knower of the seen and unseen, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord and Sovereign of all things. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except You.
I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, from the temptations of the devil to associate partners with You, and from committing any wrong to myself or to any fellow Muslim.
Shirk is the act of associating partners with Allah in matters that are specific to Him, whether in belief, speech or action, such as believing that others have the power to benefit or harm, swearing by other than Allah, or bowing or prostrating to other than Him.
Abu Dawud 4:317
