In English:
Allahumma innaka khalaqta nafsee wa-anta tawaffaha, laka mamatuha wamahyaha in ahyaytaha fahfathha, wa-in amattaha faghfir laha. Allahumma innee as-alukal-AAafiyah.
Translation:
“Oh Allah, You have created my soul, and You will eventually take its life. The control of its life and death belongs to You. If You choose to keep my soul alive, I ask You to protect it.
In English:
Alhamdu lillahil-lathee atAAamana wasaqana, wakafana, wa-awana, fakam mimman la kafiya lahu wala mu/wee.
Translation:
“Praise be to Allah, Who has provided us with food and drink, and Who is enough for us and has given us shelter. There are many who are without sufficient means or shelter, but Allah has blessed us abundantly.”
Dua Before sleeping # 6
In English:
Allahumma AAalimal-ghaybi washshahadah, fatiras-samawati wal-ard, rabba kulli shayin wamaleekah, ashhadu an la ilaha illa ant, aAAoothu bika min sharri nafsee wamin sharrish-shaytani washirkih, wa-an aqtarifa AAala nafsee soo-an aw ajurrahu ila muslim.
Translation:
“O Allah, You are the Knower of the seen and unseen, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord and Sovereign of all things. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul, the evil of Satan, and from committing wrong against myself or any other Muslim. Shirk is to associate partners with Allah in matters specific to Him, such as belief, speech, or action, such as swearing by or prostrating to anyone other than Allah.”
Abu Dawud 4:317
Dua Before sleeping # 7
In English:
Allahumma aslamtu nafsee ilayk, wafawwadtu amree ilayk, wawajjahtu wajhee ilayk, wa-alja/tu thahree ilayk, raghbatan warahbatan ilayk, la maljaa wala manja minka illa ilayk, amantu bikitabikal-lathee anzalt, wabinabiyyikal-lathee arsalt.
Translation:
“Oh Allah, I surrender my soul to You, and I entrust my affairs to You. I turn my face towards You and rely on You completely, with hope and fear in my heart. There is no refuge or safety from You except in You. I have faith in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.”
Al-Bukhari 11:113, Muslim 4:2081
Dua Before sleeping # 8

Translation:
“Allah! There is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all that exists. He never sleeps nor slumbers. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and on earth. Who can intercede with Him without His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them. And they cannot encompass anything of His knowledge except for what He wills. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He does not feel fatigue in guarding and preserving them. He is the Most High, the Most Great.”
