Dua For Entering the Bathroom : As Muslims, we acknowledge that Allah is the ultimate protector and seek His refuge to ensure our safety and well-being. It is therefore imperative for us to regularly seek Allah’s assistance in all our endeavors, including reciting the appropriate dua when entering the bathroom.
Toilets are considered impure places, and according to Islamic beliefs, devils tend to occupy such places. Therefore, it is advised not to engage in any verbal remembrance of Allah in such places, as it is believed that Satan takes advantage of the absence of Allah’s remembrance.
Seeking refuge in Allah before entering a toilet is recommended as it is believed to protect one from Satan’s influence until one exits the toilet.

Why we should pray dua before entering the bathroom?
According to scholars, seeking refuge with Allah when entering the bathroom is considered mustahabb (recommended) because it serves as a means of seeking protection from the devils who tend to frequent places that are considered impure and where ‘awrahs (private body parts) are exposed.
The Quranic verse highlights the advantage of making Dua by emphasizing that Allah s.w.t. listens to the prayers of the distressed and alleviates their difficulties. It states that Allah s.w.t. is the One Who answers the call of the distressed and removes their afflictions, indicating that making Dua is a powerful tool for seeking relief and support during times of distress.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has taught us supplications to recite in moments when we require the protection of Allah Almighty, in order to make this task easier for us.
Why is cleanliness important in Islam?
According to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, it is encouraged for individuals to wear clean clothes at all times and to take special care to ensure that clothing remains clean even while using the toilet. Additionally, Muslims are advised to cultivate a pure and clean mindset and heart, while demonstrating respect toward others and offering assistance to those who may be in need.
The Quran emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and purity in the context of worship and seeking Allah’s love, stating that within the mosque there are individuals who take pleasure in purifying themselves, and Allah holds affection for those who maintain cleanliness and purity. The verse reads: “Verily, within the mosque are men who love to cleanse themselves, and Allah loves those who make themselves pure.” (Quran 9:108)
Conclusion
According to Ali ibn Abi Talib, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that if a person says “Bismillah” (in the name of Allah) upon entering the washroom, a barrier will be placed between the eyes of the Jinn (supernatural beings) and the private parts of human beings.
