As Muslims, we recognize that Allah alone is the ultimate source of protection and safety, and thus we seek His help and refuge in all aspects of our lives.
This includes reciting supplications, such as the Dua For Leaving The Bathroom, to seek Allah’s protection and blessings. We should make it a habit to ask Allah SWT for assistance regularly, as we acknowledge that He is the only true protector and guide for us.
It is advised not to engage in the remembrance of Allah verbally while using a toilet as it is considered an impure place. This is because the shaytan, or devil, can take advantage of one’s vulnerability when they do not remember Allah, as the act of remembrance drives the shaytan away.
Therefore, seeking refuge with Allah before entering the toilet signifies that one is seeking protection from the shaytan until one leaves the impure place.

Dua For Leaving the Bathroom
غُفْرَانَكَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذٰى وَعَافَانِي
In English
Ghufranaka Alhamdulillah illadhi adhhaba anni al-adha wa ‘aafaanee
Translation
“(O Allah) I seek forgiveness and pardon from You”. All Praise be to Allah, who has taken away from my discomfort and granted me relief”.
Why we should pray dua after leaving the bathroom?
Scholars have explained that seeking forgiveness upon exiting the toilet in Islam is based on the belief that one may have inadvertently neglected the remembrance of Allah during their time in the restroom, which is considered a deficiency. Therefore, by asking for forgiveness, Muslims aim to compensate for this shortfall.
Making Dua has the potential to remove arrogance from our hearts. As we turn to Allah Almighty and present our problems before Him, we become aware of His status as the Creator of both ourselves and the entire universe. This realization helps us let go of our egos and cultivate a more humble mindset.
Value of dua in Islam
Dua is a crucial tool bestowed by Allah to humanity, serving as a highly personal way for us to communicate and establish a relationship with the Divine. The Qur’an is the word of Allah, conveyed to us through our esteemed Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah Be Upon Him) as a source of guidance for all of humankind.
Dua holds great significance in the lives of Muslims as it serves as a means of conversing with Allah Almighty. Through Dua, we humbly present our needs and seek His assistance in overcoming our difficulties. This act of submission is not only a way of expressing our dependence on Allah, but it is also a form of worship in itself.
Conclusion
Dua is a manifestation of a person’s reliance on and submission to the Creator, indicating their need for Allah. As stated in the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty affirms, “When my servants inquire about me, (inform them that) I am certainly near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he invokes me.”
