As Muslims, we believe in the power of supplication and the importance of making dua for every action we take. Drinking milk is not just a daily routine, but it is also an act of worship when we remember to make dua before and after drinking milk.

Duas Upon Drinking Milk

Allah (SWT) has blessed us with countless blessings, and milk is one of them. It is a wholesome and nutritious drink that is beneficial for our health. Milk is a rich source of protein, calcium, and vitamins, which are essential for our body’s growth and development. It is also recommended by our Prophet (PBUH) to drink milk daily.

In the Quran, Allah (SWT) says, “And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies between excretion and blood, pure milk; palatable to drinkers.”

(Surah Al-Nahl, 16:66)

When we drink milk, we should remember the blessings of Allah (SWT) and make dua for its goodness and benefits. Here is a dua for drinking milk that we can recite before drinking milk:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

In English:

Bismillahilladhi la yadurru ma’asmihi shay’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i, wa Huwas-Sami’ul-‘Aleem.

Translation:

In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing in the earth or the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

This dua reminds us that Allah (SWT) is the one who provides us with the blessings of milk, and it also seeks Allah’s protection from any harm or negative effects of drinking milk.

After drinking milk, we should also remember to make dua for its benefits and goodness. Here is a dua for after drinking milk:

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ

In English:

Allahumma barik lana fihi wa zidna minhu.

Translation:

Translation: O Allah, bless it for us and increase it for us.

This dua seeks Allah’s blessings and abundance in the milk we have consumed, and it is a way of showing gratitude to Allah (SWT) for the blessings He has bestowed upon us.

In addition to making dua, we should also remember to be mindful of the source and quality of the milk we consume. Islam emphasizes the importance of consuming halal and wholesome food, and this includes milk. We should ensure that the milk we consume is obtained from a halal source and that it is free from any harmful additives or preservatives.

Conclusion

Making dua before and after drinking milk is a way of acknowledging the blessings of Allah (SWT) and seeking His protection and abundance. Drinking milk is not just a physical act, but it is also a spiritual act that strengthens our connection with Allah (SWT) and reminds us of His infinite blessings. May Allah (SWT) bless us with the goodness and benefits of milk, and may He accept our duas. Ameen.
